Thanks
for visiting Rizzo's Oven and considering us for your event. Before contacting us (877-RIZ-OVEN),
if you have the following info it makes things smoother:
1)
The date. If there is something on the calendar page of the website, call anyway. We can (have) done 2 simultaneous events
or 2 back to back. If we don't have anything on a given date we can generally work with as little as 1 days notice, but it's
really nice to have more time.
2) Time. We need 1 hour to set up & get the
oven hot. We prefer to do this before guests arrive, because there's a bunch of equipment/stuff and we don't want to be in
your way. And we prefer to get the minivan as close as possible to the setup site.
3)
Electric power. We have a refrigerator to keep all the good stuff cold - it needs to be plugged into a regular outlet. We
bring 50' of extension cord.
4) Gates. The big oven is 44" wide. The little
oven fits through a standard 3' clearance. If we've eaten our wheaties we can lift the big oven off the transport wheels,
rotate it 90 degrees and get it through a 34" clearance. It weighs about 450 lbs. We prefer not to.
5) About (not exact) number of people. The small oven cooks 2 pizzas at a time and can keep up with a crowd of
up to about 30. The big oven can fit up to 4 pizzas at a time. Pizzas cook in less than 5 min. once the oven is up to temp.
Other stuff-
We bring 2 six ft. tables (& tableclothes) for prep & serving. We bring wooden pizza paddles for serving.
We generally don't bring plates, napkins, utensils, cups, etc. although we can.
We
generally start out with one or two margharita pizzas, then accomodate kids (I know how it works - I have 2 young boys) with
simpler pizzas, then go crazy with our repetoire of "interesting" pizzas. We definitely take reqests and absolutely
love interacting with a crowd. To finish, our dessert pizzas never fails to make a big impression (don't forget to ask how
we take all the calories out!)
Besides all the ingredients on the menu, we bring
more. We supplement the list with anything that looks particularly good at the farmer's market, anything that we particularly
"feel like", and anything special you'd like us to bring. We have accomodated particular requests for all veggie,
gluten-free, non-dairy cheese, kosher style and others. If you've got guests that aren't pizza people (?), let us know what
they do eat & we'll probably be able to make something delicious for them in the oven.
